THESE brothers won't get into trouble for fighting.

Robert McKenzie and Mikael Movitz grapple at home in Carnegie, but malice isn't involved - they're just committed to their sport, Brazilian jujitsu.

"We always used to play-fight at home," McKenzie, 22, said. He began the sport in 2003, weighing only 58kg.

Brazilian jujitsu involves various "locks" and participants do most moves from the ground.

Mikael, 12, who took up the sport after seeing his brother compete, is now coached by his older brother.

The two successfully competed in the state championships at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre last month.

Both won bronze medals McKenzie in the adults' advanced lightweight division and Mikael in the children's heavyweight under-12s.

The pair train regularly at the Ben Hall Carlson Gracie Academy in Prahran.

McKenzie and Mikael are this week's junior and senior Leader Sports Star nominees. To nominate someone who has competed at state level or higher, email us their details at theleaer@leadernewspapers.com.au
